About the event
Come experience two visionary works: the work that made Mendelssohn world-famous paired with an almost unknown Eastern masterwork. St. Paul (Part One) is a dramatic oratorio that took the world by storm in the 1830s. On the same program will be the rarely heard cantata John of Damascus by the composer, Sergei Taneyev, a master of counterpoint and a friend of Tchaikovsky. This piece’s Russian Romanticism will sweep you away!
