CHORALIS YOUTH CHOIRS

Do you want to be part of one of the most exciting choral experiences in the Washington Metro area? Then we have the choirs for you!  See below for audition information.

Youth

Artistry and Excellence for Young Singers

Choralis has a youth chorus program for the community, featuring expert instruction by Director Mary-Hannah Klontz and the Choralis music staff. The Choralis elite treble choir, Cantus Primo, made its debut appearance in a performance of Carmina Burana in 2008 as guests of the National Philharmonic Orchestra & Chorale. They continue to be in demand for appearances with the adult Choralis and other area choral organizations. The Choralis Cantus Youth Choirs have been selected to perform at Fairfax County's 2010 International Children's Festival at Wolf Trap.

Auditions!

We are now holding auditions for the 2010-2011 choral season. Auditions are available by special appointment. Please email youth@choralis.org to schedule an audition and download an audition form to bring to the audition. Singers in grades 2‑4 are given a screening audition to help us understand their potential and if we are over-enrolled, to select members for the program.

Auditions for grades 5 and up are for placement into the appropriate choir depending on the level of vocal maturity and balance within the youth choir program. All singers selected for Cantus Primo must also be a member of another Choralis ensemble. Parents are expected to volunteer 10 hours of time to the program.
