THE CHORALS ANNUAL CHORALIS SUMMER CHORAL FESTIVAL
Returns in our 2011-2012 Season
The Washington metropolitan area’s original summer choral festival for talented high school students will return in the 2011-2012 season. For 2010-2011, high school students are welcome to join Choralis for our entire season, including for our performance of the Brahms Requiem at Strathmore, through our auditioned HS scholarship program.
At summerfest, students spend an unforgettable week filled with fun, friendship, learning and performance. From private or group voice lessons, sight-singing, and accompanying to conducting, music history, choral literature and music theory, participants receive one-on-one instruction from Washington’s leading artists in a unique and fresh setting. Students also rehearse daily with Choralis to prepare this glorious masterwork, and the week culminates in a performance with professional soloists and orchestra.
This experience has enriched the lives of the young people who have attended over the past eight years, many of whom have returned after entering college to volunteer as counselors or instructors. The Choralis Summer Choral Festival represents a great opportunity for personal and musical growth beyond the typical high school curriculum and is a must for serious singers!
