Auditions

Audition Requirements:
1) Perform a solo, an aria from an oratorio or opera, an art song, or your voice part from a choral piece that you already know.   Alternatively, you can sing a folk song, hymn, or another piece you feel comfortable with.  The purpose of this solo audition is for us to get an idea of language and sound.  You will need to bring three copies of your music - one for yourself, one for the artistic staff, and one for the accompanist. 
2) We will ask you sing a short sight reading example.
3) Finally, you will be asked to complete a tonal exercise.
4) We will contact all those who audition within five days to inform them whether they have been successful.

If you are invited to join Choralis here are a few things you should know!

• Dues are $160 for the 09/10 season.
• Singers are responsible for purchasing their own music, which generally costs between $60-$100. 
• Choralis rehearses on Tuesday evenings at 7:30 pm. 
• Rehearsals are held at Falls Church Presbyterian Church, 225 East Broad St, Falls Church, 22046.  There is a metro stop approximately one mile away.   We have several choir singers who metro on a regular basis.
• Choir members also pitch in on volunteer activities such as setting up for special events, distributing marketing materials, etc.
